Immortal Obsolescence

Brandon Ross is a 2014 Chamber Music America New Jazz Works grantee. The commissioned piece, "Immortal Obsolescence", is an instrumental and photographic song cycle.

Ross writes:

"My Chamber Music America New Jazz Works grant project, “Immortal Obsolescence” is a musical response to a visual chronicle of psychotherapeutic artifacts, documented by Venezuelan visual artist, designer and photographer, Carolina Munoz. The music is composed for For Living Lovers—my acoustic duo with acoustic bass guitarist Stomu Takeishi—and additional instrumentation through a song cycle of 11 compositions for improvisation."
